Info on the Bike Ride 2002

"It is not a race, but the achievement of finishing"

  10 & 50 KM
As it has become custom our bike ride this year covers again 2 routes, both of which are in ‘Harrier terms’ A to A, but seem uphill all the way. One of 10 kilometers and then the real thing, the 50 kilometers ride. This will take you out from the Diana Driving Range along Beach Road, then out into the country alongside Siam Country Club, round Mabrachan Reservoir and then back to the Diana Range. Sounds easy, doesn’t it. Have a look at the map provided, then set out in a car and see how long it takes you.

What do I need to bring on Sunday 15th September 2002 before 7:30am?
You need to bring along a bike, 300 Baht entry fee, Rider Application, Sponsorship, and Disclaimer forms, and your collected sponsor money. The 300 Baht can be deducted from the collected sponsorship money. Sign up is either on Saturday 14th September between 6.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. at Shenanigans The Irish Pub, or before the start of the ride at Diana Driving Range between 6.30 a.m. – 7.30 a.m.

Where can I get the forms?
Collect the Rider Application form and Sponsorship forms at Shenanigans, Tahitian Queen, Diana Driving Range and Diana Inn, or download it right here at /www.care4kids.info/fairs/2002/prints/bike_sponsor.htm

What do I get?
With your sign up you will get a real biker T-shirt by Baltex. During the ride water is provided on several water spots. This water is sponsored by B.T. Insurance. A Certificate awaits you at the end of the fun race. And not to forget the exercise you get - all while "doing one good thing each day".

What happens when I have a flat tire or a broken break?
Good question. Unfortunately we do not provide repair support (unless somebody volunteers to take responsibility for the service). We have several water stops on the way, a hospital emergency vehicle, and great cameradery from fellow bikers on the way. In addition, we are never far off any villages, where assistance (phone, transport, repair) can be obtained. Thailand, the Land of Smiles never refuses to help an honest person in need.

Ask for sponsorship - great reason to visit friends/relatives you have neglected lately!
The ride starts at 8.00 a.m. for both route categories. Partake in this fantastic way of shedding a few calories and helping children at the same time. Ask your friends, relatives, and coworkers to give you any amount and start filling in the sponsorship form. Get started now!
